WEBSITE OF ROBERT H. LEOS, Ph.D.

Saturday, April 21, 2012. Austin, Texas. The State Board of Education recently approved new mathematics standards and new rules for adopting, purchasing, and distributing instructional materials. In addition, the board issued Proclamation 2014, calling for new instructional materials in mathematics, technology applications, and science. The proclamation and the new curriculum standards will be posted on the Texas Education Agency website.

Speaking of changes, I just completed work on "The Challenges of Change: Implementing Senate Bill 6," a study sponsored by the Association of American Publishers and the Textbook Coordinators' Association of Texas. The study reflects some of the practices used in school districts across Texas to implement new legislation enacted in 2011. I include a link to the report in the current issue of Features. You can also find a link to the report on the website of Texas Curriculum (http://www.texascurriculum.org).

For information about my consulting work, click the "Consulting" tab at the top of this page or go to http://www.robertleos.com/Bio.pdf. My profile can also be found on LinkedIn. Search for Robert Leos. In addition to advisory services related to the state instructional materials adoption, I organize and conduct focus groups, survey research, and structured interviews to determine effectiveness of a business or educational process.

Take a look at the "Links/Archives" section of this website for some interesting profiles of individuals who are making strong contributions to their fields. There are also a couple of links to videos on You Tube that I posted this year. One of them is a a seven-minute chronology of my life, another video project that was a great deal of fun to complete. Check it out.

Thank you for visiting this website.
